Our Code of Conduct and your pledge to be an upstanding member of GME Hive:

I will be respectful and courteous

As a community member, I recognise that I have a responsibility to 'talk the talk and walk the walk' as a community professional. I will treat other members with respect and keep my content appropriate.

GME Hive strives to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive community. Posting of any of the following content will result in your removal and permanent exclusion from our community:

    • Illegal Pornographic, mature in content, or gratuitously or overly sexual
    • Racist, sexist, or otherwise offensive
    • Shockingly graphic, grotesque, or obscene
    • Inflammatory (e.g. name-calling, preaching, ranting, stirring up controversy, or venting frustrations)

    I will protect my privacy

It is my responsibility to ensure that the information I share in the community is what I wish to share, including my profile information.

    I will get intentionally involved

I will intentionally participate in conversations and groups I am interested in. When joining conversations and groups, I will get involved in a manner that makes the most sense for me and my time commitment.

    • What does intentional involvement look like?
    1. Helping us create an organised forum by searching for a keyword before I post.
    2. Providing helpful and kind constructive feedback
    3. Leaving thoughtful feedback in the comments and RSVPing for events

I will give what I expect to receive

In order to benefit from the community, I know that I should strive to give back what I expect in return - answering questions, sharing experiences, and participating in events.

    I won’t spam other members

GME Hive provides many features that allow users to interact with one another, including private messages. Please don’t use our tools to spam or send unsolicited messages to other members.

    • What do we consider spam?
    1. Using likes, comments, private messaging, and other social features to draw attention to my profile disingenuously
    2. Misusing community features and functionality in a way that isn’t in line with their core purpose for personal gain
    3. Leaving many irrelevant comments to draw attention to your account
    4. Posts that explicitly promote a product or service
    5. Posting questions in multiple locations before anyone has the opportunity to reply.

I will post my OWN content

We want to see our community collaborate — in all its forms (so do other members, trust us we've asked them)

    1. Don't take credit for others' work
    2. Don’t post others’ work without linking to the source
    3. Don’t post copyrighted or trademarked content without the link to the source

I will use private messages to contact members about community building topics only

When sending a message to another community professional, please follow these guidelines:

    • Your message must be related to community-building topics.
    • Personalise your messages. Generic messages seem impersonal and lack the necessary details to connect with others. As a result, you should include their name, a brief explanation of why you are reaching out, and any pertinent information about their community that interests you.
    • Have a specific reason, partnership, or opportunity in mind when contacting another member. Don’t ask if someone is generally looking to collaborate.

See a post that’s not following our code of conduct?

If you ever encounter a post or comment that violates these guidelines, please click on the three dots at the top right of the post and click "Report This Content". After you report content, our Community Team will review the post and take the appropriate action. If a post or account is detrimental to GME Hive, we reserves the right to remove members without warning.
